Short-term psychoeducational intervention is available for all first responders on an "as needed" basis for both cumulative and critical incident stress. This is a confidential and low-cost alternative to psychotherapy. Referrals are provided when warranted.
Critical incident response is available for public safety agencies whose personnel have experienced a critical incident. Services are confidential , free, and provided by members of a crisis response team that meets the statutory requirements of P.A. 40 of 2016.
Expert training is available for public safety agencies in the field of critical incident stress management (CISM) and peer support. Courses covering both individual and group crisis intervention are offered as well as a variety of other CISM courses. See the training course catalog below.
Obtain a certificate of completion in courses from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, or keep your Critical Incident Stress Management skills sharp or receive an introduction to CISM techniques with these LIVE virtual training sessions via Zoom! Each session will be conducted by David R. Services are provided in order to ensure compliance with MCL 333.20981 and MCL 333.20982 for confidentiality of peer communications, and to qualify for team membership with the Michigan Crisis Response Association (MCRA) as required by the confidentiality law. Services include:
